Spring 2021 Masterclass

Mastering Musical Theatre Dance
with Broadway Veteran, Kelly Jacobs

Tuesday April 13 4:00-5:30pm

Due to space limitations, this Masterclass will be open to 4-8th graders who have been cast in a CTW show or Christmas Carol 2019.

Class will be held outside in the courtyard at the Community House with Covid precautions in place, and moved to Zoom if forecast calls for inclement weather.

In this uniquely special masterclass, Kelly Jacobs will take your child through the essential dance and acting techniques needed to train, rehearse, and perform in musical theatre.

 

Through her own experiences on the Broadway stage and across the globe, Kelly has the inside scoop on what will take your child’s skills to the next level. She will teach a character-driven combination and give helpful tips on the style, intention, and technique that is required of any cast member. Kelly will also share her perspective and insights as a professional performer with a Q & A, answering any questions about her successful musical theatre journey.

 

Whether your child is looking to brush up on their skills, or just starting their training, there is no doubt that this masterclass will inspire every participant at any level.   

CLASS LEVEL: Good for all levels of experience and interest.

ABOUT KELLY JACOBS

Kelly is thrilled to be joining the CTW family and we're thrilled for her to join us! 

Kelly was a dance captain/swing with Mary Poppins on Broadway and the first national tour, which played the Cadillac Palace Theater in Chicago in 2009.  Kelly danced in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall in NYC for many years and appeared in Mame with Christine Baranski (Kennedy Center, D.C.), Cats  and Hot Mikado (Marriott Theater in Lincolnshire), Carousel (Pittsburgh CLO), and Camelot with Robert Goulet (Atlanta TOTS).  She has performed all over the world on Holland America, Norwegian, and Disney Cruise Lines, at Tokyo Disney Sea, and in Fame (Basel, Switzerland).  A native of Wausau, WI she received her early dance training at the Central WI School of Ballet and a psychology degree from UW-Madison.
